We are still recovering from our road trip as well as the tasty goodness of Pondicherry. Both of us feel like all we did was eat at Pondicherry. It is not like we went on a rampage, we ate three meals but those were much more lavish and expansive than our regular one dosa each fare.
Here are some of the best food we had the pleasure to enjoy. There are many more pics to see, head over to our FB page or follow us on Instagram.

Our foodie friends might find the pictures lacking but believe me for some reason the SLR around our necks does not get clicking on a table with food. Infact these are some of the rare pictures of food you would find here, because we forget clicking as soon as we see food. We had no inclination to click filling breakfasts we had at Chitoor and Vellore while riding, the truth is posting the food here was the last thought on our mind.

Dhaba food

So as you would know we started off on our bike at 11:40 am (too late) lunch on the highway was our first pit stop and the food was great. Dal, chapati and egg bhurji made for a hot and satisfying meal in the rainy afternoon and we spent close to an hour just resting our vibrating selves and letting our bike cool down while we gobbled up all the food.

Tea at Kadapa

This is the tea which marked our entry in the city of Kadapa and what a ride it was. Dripping from rain and shivering this came as a welcome relief even though it was probably the most expensive tea we had.

Filter Coffee (I am in love with the brassware)

You know the feeling when you can just taste victory, this filter coffee was exactly that. Some 40 Km from Pondicherry after crossing Thindivanam. Ajay saw this place which had a toilet. We were again wet from the rain and hassled from crossing one city after another; bursting bladder didn't help much either. As I used the facilities Ajay ordered this awesome cup of coffee and it was heavenly. Don't ask me how it compares to the famous coffee houses because right then it was the best coffee ever.

After sleeping for a while at our host's place we decided it was time for dinner as our lunch hadn't really been filling. TripAdvisor said Villa Shanti was the place to be and it was Ajay's birthday so that is where we went and food was great.

Breakfast spread at Kasha Ki Asha
Next day we woke up a bit late and headed to Kasha Ki Asha which is definitely a place we both liked and enjoyed. Our food was as colorful as the place itself and I love the way they serve lemon soda.

Lunch at Dune
Moving on we were off to keep our date with Dune, where Subhajit waited for us to give us a  property tour as well as feed us some good food. Ajay loved the watermelon gazpacho while I favor my stuffed spinach ravioli. If I could have finished it I would have ordered their Ayurvedic fare but that platter was so much food that it took and entire paragraph in the menu.

Pizza at La Teresse
This brought us to the dinner which was pizza in one of the famous restaurants of Pondicherry- La Terrasse. Though I like the pizza it was a bit bland for us (I know Indian taste buds) surprisingly so because we had asked for a spicy version. Last year we had one near Auroville and that is still my favorite.

Dahaba Food Again

I just have this one pic of our lunch next day which is a surprise because we were famished. I guess blogging is catching up with me, otherwise it is difficult for me to stop and take a picture when food is on the table. This is at Sher-E-Punjab Dhaba at Nandayal; there are quite a few of them. This one was next to a petrol pump and also has toilets.

We feel we ate too much, but I am not complaining. Food was good, though we did eat expensive fare than our usual meals. Before I sign off there is nothing like hot parotha and Kurma to make you feel satisfied. Pondicherry is one of the places I have had some of the best parothas, Try it at any shop they they usually cost you 10 a piece and Kurma is kind of complimentary. If you are a vegetarian like me you will struggle to total 30 for a meal of Parotha Kurma.

Hold on let us know what are your favorite places to eat in Pondicherry and the best highway meal you have ever had. Feel free to share pics.

Andaman had been on our wish list for long, I mean really long. Not long ago it was a difficult and expensive place to get to, it still is but when you club awesome free travel strategies you can get by with lesser hit on your pocket. We put all our might behind this one or else the flights which cost us 12K would have definitely exceeded 20K, that would have put a big strain on the entire trip. We managed to get a diving day too and it was epic much better visibility than our last outing at Goa.

We were having a particularly frustrating day but all became good when we boarded the ferry to Long Island. I can go on and on about how awesome the ferry ride was but it is much easier to show in pictures as you will see below. We are not trained photographers and can slip a bit here and there but when your subject is beyond beautiful you can't fail.

This is the Yerrata jetty some Km form the better known Rangat jetty from where you can take a ferry to bigger cities and towns. Ferry timings are a bit weird and getting tickets can be a problem. This jetty is surrounded by mangroves like most of Andamans, and they are beautiful.

As the ferry moved on we were met with probably one of the most beautiful sights ever. Green islands with varying shades of green and clear sea, a perfect setting for a castaway movie.

There has been a huge debate forever about which one is better sunrise or sunset. I prefer sunsets because I rarely make it to sunrise. After beautiful sunsets we saw there was no doubt left.

If you have been thinking of going to Andaman, don't think just go, it is far more beautiful than they say.

Travel has been keeping me busy along with all the other projects I have taken up. I have had almost no creative juice left after writing huge amounts of content for my other blog and rewriting the Work Travel Live book.Well I have just started rewriting the book. I am taking a break for 10 days and going travelling. I know I should probably take you along and post updates but nah! that's a bit too much for where I am at these days. We are not sure if we are taking the laptop even.

So in purely shameless fashion I am leaving you with these images from awesome people over at Unsplash and a great blog to read while I saunter around the white sandy beaches of Andamans.

The blog is The Art of Non Conformity. In case you have not read it head over and read this awesome blog. Ans all my dreamer followers go ahead and have a look at Mixergy. Even if you do not dream of becoming an entrepreneur it will light a fire.

We are back on 7th October so see you around.

This was taken at Sundarbans though the monkey looks calm it is only because it is busy with food. They are perhaps the animals we have met most apart from humans. The most surprising meeting was at the Keola Deo National Park where a group of monkey roamed around free and were scared of us on our rickshaw.
The reason for monkeys acting docile is that visitors are not allowed to hand them any food or other article. If only people would heed this advice everywhere.
This might not seem a fitting inspiration for many but remember travel is not about isolation, nature and its various members should be a part of your travels too.
Also I wanted to say... don't hand out food to animals in wild you are not doing much good that way.

PS: We got our prizes for winnign the GoUNESCO challenge and they are epic more about that in the next post.

Why travel is a question many have. It is infinitely comfortable to stay at home and not go through the ups and downs travel brings. I have always had a very simple answer to it.

Travel because You Deserve it.

What do you tell people?

Hungary made a new law. They must be doing it every other day but this one is really special. It bars anyone from clicking a stranger without asking for permission. As The Guardian puts it

From 15 March anyone taking photographs in Hungary is technically breaking the law if someone wanders into shot, under a new civil code that outlaws taking pictures without the permission of everyone in the photograph. According to the justice ministry, people taking pictures should look out for those who are are aware they are about to be photographed and are not waving in protest, nor trying to hide or run out of shot.
This got me thinking what if this had been a law everywhere ever since? We would never have had the image of a sailor kissing a nurse. The spontaneous rush of emotions would have looked stage and I doubt anyone of them would have even replied to the photographer before their kiss was over.
Thinking a bit about it I decided to make today's stories from the road post about what if this rule was in place last year in India.

Exhibit 1

Our Kolkata Walk

We had a lot of time on our hands when we got off in Kolkata. We had arrived a day earlier giving Gaya a miss (I am still sad about that). Trying to save some money we decided to walk. It is no doubt the best way to see a place-walking about early morning. We came across a lot of things and a lot of people some we clicked others we could not. Here are some of the people we did not ask permission from, bad of us I guess but in most cases it would have been rude.

Did not feel like waking this guy up

This man was busy reading his papers-rude to disturb

This one was lost in his thoughts

This elderly man knew I was clicking the cart behind him and he walked in to cross the road. (semi-permission I guess)

Was this the best thing to do. It felt right when we clicked these pictures. These do tell the story for us. These tell our readers how people spend their mornings in Kolkata. More importantly we did ask permission before we clicked some pictures like this smiling taxi driver.

Exhibit 2

Pattadakal Trip

This trip was one of our early trips and I am sue you have read about the trip. We clicked a few photographs and you bet people were in there.

These Females are a big part of our journey. They were cramped with us in the tempo which would take us back to Badami. Did I ask? Nope, but I tried o take avoid their faces though.

These men were sitting outside a Desi daaru ki dukaan. It was my first time to see local liquor on display. I wan not going to miss it. (Apologies for blurred photograph)

And I could not help but be amazed by all the piercings that this lady had. So I clicked. (Again apologies for blurred photograph)

Hopefully this lady did not have any issues.

I hope you understand the risks I have taken in the past year. Had I been in Hungary this year I might have been sued!

What is your take on the law and what is the pic you would have missed had you not clicked it?

Its the tenth Travel inspiration and I have heard back from very few of you. Its your turn to share something . This picture was taken as we climbed up Sigiriya. Its the last stretch and I couldn't help but think its my turn to experience what many have done before me.

Its your turn to experience travel now.

As we climbed up and reached the second check point these beautiful ladies greeted us. Reminding every visitor of Sigiriya's beautiful past they are painted some 500 steps from the palace grounds.

Many look around themselves to find meaning of life. Travel brings you face to face with yourself. It is when you face yourself that you find the real meaning.

It is then that you find you peace.

This is perhaps as close as you will ever manage to get to a peacock in a National Park. The reason we weere able to get so close was because he had lost one leg. Being close to a watch tower perhaps saved him from predators. If you visit Manas National Park he will be waiting for you at the first watch tower.

There's beauty and surprise hidden at all turns. Get Travelling...
